saturday stroll

these pictures were taken while taking tartan for a walk on a very hot muggy saturday afternoon. itwas overcast but still fairly bright. we walked a short distance up the road and then down the fireline to L239.

this is an amanita muscaria and a sideways shroom and bluebead plants.

a crazy looking aster i think, and the veiw of L239 to the left of the wayjax pump and the view of L239 to the right of the pump. the pump draws water that goes through a pipe with many tall sprinklers attached. at the other end of the pipe is another wayjax pump on L 240. the fireline is the first line of defense in a forest fire situation. it is also an interesting place to walk close to camp.

here is pretty bind weed and a beautiful shroom and some sort of club moss.

finally a good shot of the yarrow plant, more shrooms and yes another shroom the feathery greens are yarrow leaves.

pearly everlasting with bugs frame a rock loaded with "treasures"

here are rosehips still ripening, i liked this dead birch and raspberries before tartan found them.

i like the "design" of this leaf. another shroom and manitoba maple, some call it a weed tree.

a bolete shroom, the berries of the canada mayflower and another bolete with a good look at some lichen.

a tansy with bug (the bugs were slow because of the heat), shrooms and a rock guy with a lovely headdress.

you can never take too many pictures of shrooms. they wait patiently while the shot is lined up...

more patient shrooms. i like all the detritus around the shrooms. it too is interesting to me.
