first snow 11/10

it's thanksgiving weekend and we all woke up to lots of beautiful snow.
i decided to walk to the beach. the first photo is on the road going towards the beach. the next is of the canoe shed and the last i took as i was fascinated with the snow on the branches.

a view of the 239 outflow at the weir and again from a different angle. the bench at the 240 firepit.

the 240 dock looking east. trees on 240 beach. the view of 239 looking towards the dock and the pumphouse from the weir.

looking towards 240. a view of 239 looking east and looking northeast.

grasses beside the 239 dock. 239 looking south east towards the weir. the canoe shed down the road.

on the way to the beach. the rock guys in "suburbia". the trees near "suburbia"

the snowman bowing.

afternoon storm clouds 22/09

a quick view of storm clouds before i went back to work. the cloud cover was moving very fast in two different directions. a very angry looking sky.

sunday walk to 303 ridge 21/09

the clouds were spectacular the day i walked to the 303 ridge. these photos were taken from the ridge to the east of the camp road looking south over L239.

i loved this limb of a long deceased tree. and more cloud shots from the ridge.

the same day but now the sun is out from behind the clouds.

taken from the crest of the road looking east. a favourite rock guy.

a collection of rock guys beside the road with the ground cover dressed in its splendid autumn colours.

looking back up the road towards the 303 ridge. these trees and rock caught my eye. more clouds
dominating the the view.

raspberry leaves beginning to change colour. more colour. a lovely contrast of colour.

sat. afternoon walk around camp 20/09

a grouse i scared into this tree. a bunchberry plant.

an interesting shot of ground cover. a wintergreen berry. fungus and lichen on a fallen tree.

a birch log with close ups. i thought these looked like hieroglyphs. an interesting knot.

the shore beside the sauna with a close up. bird droppings that remind me of birds.

the shoreline looking towards the sauna from the 239 dock

standing at the end of the dock a self portrait on the water and a northern pike in the water.

looking towards the weir on the isthmus dividing L239 and L240.

reflection on and beneath the water. waving reeds. the shoreline east of the weir on L240.

three views of rock guys at the start of the met site path from the pine road.
