nw weir trail

looking through a maple tree and two views of an amanita muscaria.

i'm not sure what sort of mushroom this is but found it fascinating and a decomposing mushroom.

two views of a clump of sedge in the pond before the nw weir. i love the reflections.

more interesting mushrooms.

three views of the inlet from the nw weir into L239.

this is a panorama of L239 from the end of the trail. from left to right you are looking north east east and south east.

a decomposing mushroom and two shots of british soldier lichen and cup lichen.

still more interesting mushrooms.

these very tiny mushrooms are growing under the center mushrooms which are likely lactarius.

although out of focus i included this photo to show the spores below the mushroom. cedar branches in colour.

i love the pattern on this mushroom, twining birch trees and the view down the fireline.

second sunday walk

some sort o beetle on the screen door and the back deck at the kitchen.

blue beads and ferns.

the 303ridge hill, grasses by the side of the road and maple leaves in colour.

i liked the 50/50 sun and shade of thei rock and trees, again the sun and shade and the sun shining through maple leaves.

a "panorama" view of the clouds at the top of the 303ridge hill looking to the east and L239.

some type of fern i think. i like the patterns the plants create.

grasses and pearly everlasting and rock guys from an ants eye view.

an interesting leaf, piece of wood and leaf and moss.

an aster plant, pearly everlasting in full bloom and a golden rod.

i liked this rock and the colours around it, a frilly plant and a decomposing mushroom.

a view along the 303ridge trail, and again and a grouse that sared me as i scared it.

looking towards L239, the philosophers stone, one of my prayer rocks and another view along the ridge trail.

more views along the ridge trail. snags in conversation.

along the trail and going down to the met site trail.

at the ridge bottom and the start of the met site trail.

the trail exit at the met site, sun and fern and a rock guy at the turnoff to the metsite from the road. this walk is called the short loop and takes 30-40 minutes the time is dawdling dependent.
