i started my walk by fixing these rock guys beside the road just past where the suburbia trail meets the camp road. i was pleased to increase the first one from a five to a seven which was still standing on my return to camp from my walk. quite a feat as it was a very windy day. i like the second one as it looks like a bit of a chat is happening.
i'm at the top of the 303 ridge hill now and fixed the trail guard again. hopefully this configuration will stand for awhile as some of these rocks are heavy! and a picture of the first violets. the next picture shows tegau trail branching off of the camp road. it is called tegau trail beacuse tegau lake is at the other end. for me a two and a half hour walk to get to the lake. a lovely way to spend the day when a picnic lunch is enjoyed beside the lake before returning home.
these are pictures of beaver business on both sides of the trail. moose can be seen in the boggy area shown on the left. to the right is a good sized pond that has expanded quite a lot over the twenty odd years i have been the cook at the camp. i do like to take pictures of water!
further along i looked to my left and saw this very inviting look into the woods. perhaps a game trail for a moose or wolf. everytime i see these blue rocks out of the corner of my eye i think lapis and then immediately remember no it is blue paint, how disappointing. the big guy on the right is wildflower prayer rock, a new buddy of mine.
these two can be found in the old #2 dam site for the fludex experiment. i made the one on the left and the one on the right i call bobcat big boy as i'm sure a bobcat was used to make this rock guy. it is about six feet tall.
just off tegau trail on the camp road is a "parking lot". i spied this patch of club moss(?) and decided i would try a mouse eye view shot of the moss.
this is the top of the 303 ridge hill on the camp road looking towards camp. you can see quite a few rock guys i've built over the years. click on the picture to get a larger view. thhe rock guy on the right is about halfway down the hill. i call this guy ponder.
once again click on the picture for a larger view of more rock guys.
these are more water shots of a puddle beside the road.

Beautiful rock guys !
